I could blog about the excuse that have come to my mind about todays race or the fact that I failed the team but im not going to. Todays race just plain sucked but it is over and there is only one thing that I can do, FIX THE PROBLEM!!

I have worked my butt of this season. I have been dedicated and have gone to every single morning practice this year. I have been eating better to improve my health and my performance. I have found the wall and I have broken it before. I have pushed myself in training more this year then I have ever pushed myself in anything else in life. I have made running my life day and night for the past 7 months.I love this sport. I AM READY TO WIN A STATE TITLE!

Doudts have been in my mind alot about my performace and nerves have hit before races more then they have ever hit before lately. But its time to let those doudts turn into motivation and nerves turn into confedence. All of the things in the past paragraph is what I have accomplished and it is what has built me into the runner that I am.

No more nerves. No more doubts.

Postive:

  • I am more confident about myself then I have ever been
  • No more safety pads. When I flip, Im flipping for the win.

There's no doubt that as you continue your running career you will have breakthroughs and setbacks. And sometimes they'll come when you least expect it. Given your past races, this race wasn't a horrible race, it was a moment along your journey. It's true that you have to overcome your doubts and nerves, and you do that by positive self-talk, and also the assurance that your training is where it needs to be. Seems like you've got both of those.

My small piece of advice would be that you can expect breakthroughs, but you can't expect them in every race. The 5K especially is not a race that you can run hard at every other week. You need to pick your moments. Stay calm, stay poised, stay focused.
